A free exhibition featuring artist Chang Li-jen’s (張立人) highly detailed “Battle City” series is now open at Neiwei Arts Center (內惟藝術中心), giving visitors a chance to walk through a miniature urban world built over 14 years. The exhibition, titled “RE: Battle City” (RE:戰鬥之城), runs from June 6 to Oct. 26.

Nantzikeng Sports Center (楠仔坑運動中心) in Nanzih District (楠梓) began trial operations Sunday. During the trial period, the center is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The fitness center and swimming pool are closed for cleaning from noon to 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Education officials said disagreements between parents, teachers and students are common on campuses, but if handled poorly in the early stages, they can quickly move into complicated legal investigation procedures. That can consume school resources and deepen conflict, the bureau said. The planned mechanism would emphasize “communication first,” encouraging schools to bring in outside professionals in psychology, counseling, law and education when needed to help resolve disputes early.

The Kaohsiung City Public Works Bureau (高雄市工務局) opened applications for the second phase of its Building Vertical Greenery and Green Roof Subsidy Project (建築物立體綠化及綠屋頂補助計畫) on June 1, 2026. The application window will remain open until June 22, 2026, offering a maximum subsidy of NT$800,000 per project to encourage public participation in urban cooling and carbon reduction initiatives.

The Education Bureau said it is drafting guidelines to help schools decide when to activate the communication mechanism before formally accepting a case. Outside professionals are expected to be brought in to assist schools, including representatives from principal associations, teacher groups, parent groups, counseling and guidance specialists, and legal professionals.

The Pingtung County Government said cooperation with major retailers can help stabilize production and sales while increasing farmers’ income. Carrefour said its Taiwan stores shipped about 50 tonnes of Pingtung Irwin mangoes in May. The company expects sales to rise further in June as the season reaches its peak.
