Kaohsiung’s 70-hectare “Green Heart” to host massive picnic party for two weekends starting April 25
The city’s Tourism Bureau announced today that the Kaohsiung Green Park (果嶺自然公園) — a massive 70-hectare transformation of a former golf course — will host a sprawling “Spring Picnic Fun” festival over two consecutive weekends starting April 25.
“This level of concentration [in the Dianbao River basin in Kaohsiung] is a powerful indicator that they are not just surviving—they are thriving and reproducing,” the Association warned.
One of the most unique interactive features introduced at the temple is the “Letter to My Future Self” initiative. Visitors are invited to sit in the Dacheng Hall to reflect and write down their current thoughts, wishes, or unfinished goals.
City officials said traffic safety work remains ongoing and called for public cooperation, saying the government will continue pursuing its “4-E” strategy for improvement: Engineering, Education, Enforcement, and Encouraging public transportation.
The city’s Transportation Bureau said the “Ride for the Earth” campaign runs from now through May 17. Participants who complete the required Instagram tasks through @youbike_tw.

The Labor Bureau said the event will also include consultation areas focused on youth employment, workers age 55 and older, women returning to the workforce, and general job placement services.
Under the program, groups of at least 15 people can apply for the subsidy if they visit designated attractions in Cieding (茄萣), Yongan (永安), Mituo (彌陀), Ziguan (梓官), and Linyuan (林園), and include a local meal as part of the itinerary.
