Design plans incorporate local features of the Hengchun Peninsula (恆春半島), drawing on elements such as Dajianshan (大尖山), Frog Rock (青蛙石), coastal bays, and ocean waves. The campus will also include design features to address strong seasonal winds and sun exposure, including windbreak structures, shading, and improved ventilation.
Officials now say the revised plan will scale down the project, including reducing seating capacity from the originally proposed 20,000 seats and adjusting the overall size to better match market demand.

The Pingtung County (屏東縣) Government building complex will be transformed into a large-scale children’s play zone over the Children’s Day holiday, with road closures and expanded programming planned for April 3–4.
The package is built around the “Southern International Lifestyle Festival” (南國國際生活節), scheduled for April 10–12 and April 17–19 in Hengchun Township (恆春鎮), with events centered at Beimen Plaza (北門廣場).
To encourage the use of public transport, transfer discounts will also be offered. Travelers using electronic tickets who transfer within 10 hours from national highway buses, TRA, or HSR to local bus services will receive a free basic fare or one free segment. Some designated “Happy Bus” routes will be free of charge.
The song was composed by the school’s first principal, Li Chih-chuan (李志傳), a Pingtung native who studied music in Japan before returning to teach. Li later moved to Taipei, where he played an important role in Taiwan’s early music education system and helped organize teacher choirs and orchestras — including a group that later evolved into what is now the Taipei Symphony Orchestra (台北市立交響樂團).
One current exhibition, running through May 10, 2026, explores how East Asia was represented in historical maps and images from the 14th to the 19th centuries, offering visitors a fascinating look at how the region understood the wider world.
Unlike conventional taxis, “multi-service taxis” must be pre-booked through an app or dispatch system. They cannot accept street hails or wait in taxi ranks and typically use platform-based pricing rather than a meter. Under current rules, such taxis are generally not allowed to pick up passengers directly at airports.
City officials said the road upgrades will make it easier and safer for both residents and tourists to reach the lake’s cycling paths and lakeside walking trails, further strengthening the area’s role as a recreation and eco-tourism destination.
