Pedestrian crossings are being adjusted. Crosswalks are being set slightly farther back from intersections, and striped markings are being re-angled so drivers can see pedestrians earlier as they approach.
Foxconn will invest NT$15.9 billion (US$509.94 million) to build its Kaohsiung headquarters in southern Taiwan. That would include a mixed-use commercial and office building and a residential tower, it said. Construction is scheduled to start in 2027, with completion targeted for 2033.

The design-build project, now underway, is scheduled for completion in December 2026. It covers a full upgrade of the Cijin Beach core area and extensive improvements along the surrounding coastline, marking a major milestone in Kaohsiung’s effort to elevate its coastal tourism infrastructure.

The Hequn (合群) and Jianye (建業) villages are areas long recognized as the largest surviving cluster of naval dependents’ housing in Taiwan. Much of the district dates back to the late 1940s and 1950s, when thousands of military families settled in Zuoying following the KMT’s relocation to Taiwan.
The Taiwan High Speed Rail extension to Pingtung will enter Kaohsiung Main Station then cross the Gaoping River to Liukuaicuo. The earliest full opening is targeted for 2039 and staged service is being assessed.
