Cijin Sunset Bar is the place to be for kite-watching and “adult beverages.” This Saturday, at the pop-up at Cijin Sunset Pop-Up, 1050 Cijin 3rd Road, according to the event listing, anyone wearing a bikini top can enjoy free drinks, and yes, the offer applies to both men and women.

The 2026 Cijin Kite Festival and Inflatable Water Park (2026旗津風箏節暨氣墊水樂園) will be held July 25-26 and Aug. 1-2 near the Love Gate (鍾愛之門), the Kaohsiung Tourism Bureau said.

The festival will run from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Shinbinn Station Front, immediately outside MRT Hamasen Station.

The 2026 Kaohsiung Battle Dance International Street Dance Competition (雄爭舞鬥國際街舞大賽) will be held Aug. 15 and 16 at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center (高雄展覽館). The winning crew in the BOTY Taiwan Crew Breaking Battle will qualify to represent Taiwan at the 2027 Battle of the Year world final in Germany, according to the Kaohsiung Youth Bureau (高雄市政府青年局).

The 2026 Soundwave Art Festival (聲浪藝術節) will take place at the Hengchun Cultural Center (恆春文化中心) from August through December. The festival program encompasses music, theater, and cross-disciplinary performances.

The exhibition utilizes digital projection, interactive installations, and recreated historical scenes to present the development of four major ancient civilizations: Mesopotamia, Egypt, the Mediterranean, and India.

The Donggang festival is held once every three years and is recognized as an important national folk custom. It is one of Pingtung County’s largest religious events. The wooden King Boat measures almost 47 Taiwanese feet, or about 14 meters, and cost approximately NT$13.8 million, the county government said.

Runners can enter one of four categories: a 42-kilometer full marathon, a 21-kilometer half marathon, a 12-kilometer challenge race, or a 4-kilometer experience race. Activities will take place over the weekend of November 14-15, with the races scheduled for Sunday.
